The Customer Relations Assistant supports Jazz at Lincoln Center’s (JALC’s) customer base by interfacing with subscribers, patrons, members, and ticket holders by handling relevant customer service issues.  The Customer Relations Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Assistant Director, Ticketing and Customer Service both at the venue during concerts and in the office as needed.

Responsibilities

Interface and handle customer service related issues concerning JALC subscriptions, membership, concert season tickets and other miscellaneous customer service inquiries by answering multiple phone lines and occasional in-person questions from customers. Oversee all inbound email communications in order to ensure a positive customer service experience with JALC. Process memberships and sell the various benefits of membership to customers. Support various membership renewal campaigns, both via mailings and telephone appeals. On-site staffing of the subscriber/membership table at concerts during the week and on select weekends, as needed. Fulfill subscriber ticket requests or exchanges. Interface with the JALC Box Office as related to ticket purchases, refunds, and programming matters. Assist in the deployment of JALC’s annual subscription campaign. Manage and update outgoing customer service phone messages. Handle other special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of professional work experience, preferably in a ticketing and/or customer service role. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a strict deadline-oriented environment. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills along with ability to work independently. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail, and strong ability to take initiative and maintain certain level of motivation. Proven ability to work in a collaborative and productive environment. Ability to consistently maintain a professional demeanor and a customer-oriented attitude. Previous experience with computerized ticketing software program(s) preferred, specifically Tessitura. Willingness and availability to work some evenings or weekends as needed to support Jazz at Lincoln Center events. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Appreciation of jazz music and the mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center, with a willingness to learn.
