The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Visitor Experience, the Digital Marketing Manager ensures the execution of email and digital marketing campaigns at the de Young and Legion of Honor. The Digital Marketing Manager oversees promotional efforts for institutional initiatives such as education and development campaigns. This position will track, analyze and report on marketing performance data metrics on an ongoing basis to identify and underscore trends and uncover opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees all digital marketing initiatives; manages the planning, development and implementation of email marketing program and paid digital adverting programs. Manages the detailed execution of marketing campaigns, specifically for education and donor programs and events, including but not limited to creation of promotional plans, owned media selection, and content development. In partnership with the web + digital team, develops video and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies; Liaises with the content team to activate digital content marketing strategies. In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, manages external consultants and/or digital media agencies as needed. Supervises Digital Marketing Coordinator and provides guidance and support for professional development; acts as a resource to the Assistant Marketing Manager and Marketing Assistant, when applicable. Produces programmatic marketing reports including analytics and other key performance metrics such as media performance, attendance, ticket sales and revenue; analyzes findings on an ongoing basis to optimize promotional plans; provides strategic recommendations for growth and overall health of email program and increased engagement of digital adverting campaigns. Identifies and implements new tests and tactics, continually striving to drive enhanced results and apply learning to future campaigns. Collaborates with IT department on Salesforce CRM integration, specifically for Marketing Cloud; continually refines marketing tactics through reporting and analysis of CRM data. Manages digital budgets; works closely with the Marketing Assistant to effectively track payments. Oversees master email calendar and email production timelines; supervises the routing of materials internally and externally to ensure timely review and deployment of emails. Works collaboratively with the Assistant Manager to ensure all traditional and digital marketing efforts are in alignment.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Liberal Arts or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years demonstrated work experience in marketing and/or advertising. Agency, in-house and/or previous marketing experience at a large arts institution required. Skills and Abilities:
Experience with Email Marketing System (Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Mailchimp). Experience with list segmentation methods and database management. Commitment to execution of marketing initiatives in a deadline-driven environment. Strong understanding of museums audiences. Ability to see trends and effectively analyze data to drive results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and customer relationship management systems, HTML coding, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of marketing best practices. Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships. Ability to take direction, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and take initiative. Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities. Knowledge of art preferred.
