In response to the Museum’s evolving programmatic priorities, the Associate Director, Development for the Hammer Museum will assist the Deputy Director, Advancement in the day-to-day operation and management of the development department and with all aspects of the Museum’s fundraising initiatives, including independently identifying prospects and developing solicitation strategies for major gifts. S/he will lead institutional giving area of the department manage and oversee all aspects of grant writing, proposals, in addition to manage all aspects of the capital campaign. Assist with the formalization of a Planned Giving program, in concert with UCLA External Affairs; develop and write a variety of development materials, including correspondence, proposals, grant applications and general appeal letters; and work directly with the Museum Director, Director of Grunwald Center, Curators, Directors of Academic and Public Programs, and other Museum and UCLA staff in carrying out Museum development initiatives. Additional responsibilities will include collaborating with the Deputy Director, Advancement, on budgets, objectives, and long term department goals, managing departmental expenses, and overseeing gift acknowledgements. Special projects will be assigned by the Deputy Director, Advancement as they relate to the long-term strategic goals and objectives of the department and the Museum overall. Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Grant Writer.
