Box Office Manager On Duty

The Box Office Manager on Duty serves as the primary contact for patron services in the absence of the Director of Patron Services, and serves as a back-up and support to the Director of Patron services in providing the highest level of customer service to Imagination Stage’s patrons while managing the daily workflow of the box office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Box Office Functions

  • Oversee ticket sales conducted by Box Office Associates
  • Respond to phone inquiries
  • Perform box office close outs
  • Supervise Box Office Associates & House Managers
  • Provide customer service quality control
  • Building coupon codes
  • Assure that box office space is maintained in an organized and tidy manner

Management Functions

  • Troubleshoot complex customer services issues
  • Create an environment that embraces warm, friendly, and efficient customer service to increase sales and repeat business
  • Assure all box office staff activities and procedures are in compliance with all company financial security policies, and enforce these policies rigorously
  • Manage work flow within the box office to assure most efficient use of associates’ time
  • Complete payroll documents as needed, in the absence of the Director of Patron Services
  • Report and respond promptly and efficiently to inquiries from the Director of Marketing & Communications

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a box office environment
  • Experience managing staff and/or schedules preferred
  • Knowledge of Tessitura a plus
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service and meticulous attention to detail
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Sense of humor a must!

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

Up to 20 hours/week, to include one weekend day.  May include occasional evenings.  $13/hour.
