SCAD seeks a Departmental Administrative Assistant for its Savannah location to provide comprehensive and professional administrative support services to the office of academic services, the department, chairs, school deans, and the faculty and staff who serve within the organizational structure of their school.

In this position, you will support the academic departments within assigned schools on academic projects and university initiatives and also collaborate with the academic operations managers to help their academic departments meet requirements and deadlines on operational matters. The collaboration of the departmental administrative assistant expands to all units of the university, including working on accreditation initiatives with institutional effectiveness; recruitment with admission; student matters with student success, registrar, and career and alumni success; professional partnerships with SCADpro; academic content for printing and publishing with creative services; awards and rankings with institutional recognition; and more. The role requires undertaking operational and administrative responsibilities of the department and building as well as working in support of matters that require confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines. The assistant will be required to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor.

The ideal candidate has advanced project- and people-management skills and can showcase them through operational and administrative responsibilities, including tasks that require confidentiality, accuracy, punctuality, responsiveness, and agility. The candidate should also showcase successful work experience in an academic environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, and computer skills including Microsoft Office software suite (specifically Word and Excel), Banner, or a similar database. The candidate must be well organized; display discipline, honesty, and integrity; and be able to handle multiple priorities.
