Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this senior position directs the Museum’s fundraising in the areas of Leadership Gifts, Planned Giving, and Institutional Relations (comprised of corporate, foundation and government relations). Serves as a key member of the External Relations Division’s senior team. Manages a large staff of development professionals. Plays a central role in defining and implementing fundraising strategies to advance the MFA’s vision of transformation and achievement. Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of successful fundraising experience in a management position with extensive knowledge of all program areas including leadership gifts, planned giving, corporate, foundation and government relations Significant experience and demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and successfully closing six, seven, and eight-figure gifts. Experience in setting, forecasting, and managing departmental goals also required Significant experience in campaign planning and implementation Leadership ability and strong management skills. Proven success in a complex and fast-paced environment Experience working closely with top volunteers and board leadership Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to relate effectively with a wide range of constituencies Exceptional organization skills and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks fluidly Poise, discretion, maturity, flexibility, initiative and ability to work as a team player essential
