The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is looking for an innovative and passionate individual to join our team and inspire citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.

As an intersection between the Museum audience and its mission; the Marketing Office builds and engages audiences with the Museum by increasing public awareness using multiple communications channels. The New Audience Engagement and Membership (NAEM) Division of the Marketing Office is currently seeking an Email Marketing Associate.

Under the direction of the Digital Marketing Manager, the Email Marketing Associate will be responsible for the production and implementation of email marketing communications—coding HTML emails, managing constituent databases, deploying content and promotions to various behavioral-based and targeted audiences, while ensuring that all work has the greatest institutional impact. The Email Marketing Associate will be responsible for keeping up to date and advocating for implementation of digital trends and best practices.

The incumbent will keep a pulse on relevant professional literature and learning opportunities, including webinars, professional blogs, and email listservs, as well as industry white papers and reports to enhance the effectiveness of Museum’s email communications.

This is a full-time donated position (non-Federal) paid with the Museum’s private funds. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Email Marketing Associate will be responsible for producing and executing email campaigns, as well as related components including landing pages and online forms.

Code and QA HTML emails across browsers, platforms, and devices for all manual and automated deployments, as well as ensuring that all are accessible through screen readers and other devices used by individuals with disabilities, while also ensuring that web pages are Section 508 compliant. Implement optimization strategies through setup of  A/B and multivariate testing Partner with project managers and internal stakeholders to ensure all content is vetted, reviewed and approved in advance of deadlines Coordinate with digital marketing team to support and maintain the email calendar, including requests and rescheduling

The Email Marketing Associate will be responsible for database management and query development:

Support data hygiene efforts in the digital marketing automation tool Troubleshoot and resolve email database issues as needed Import and export data from eCRM as required to support marketing needs Build target audience and suppression queries for use in email campaigns, as well as advanced personalization and segmentation strategies

Minimum Qualifications

BA or BS College Graduate Degree 1 – 3 years’ experience producing email in non-profit or corporate environment Experience working in digital marketing automation platforms/eCRMs Excellent HTML email coding capabilities Experience with CSS, Javascript and open source libraries Working knowledge of UX and email industry best practices Ability​ ​to​ ​meet​ ​deadlines​ ​on​ ​a​ ​daily​ ​basis with a strong attention to detail Self-sufficient​ and motivated ​with​ ​the​ ​ability​ ​to​ ​collaborate​ ​effectively Ability to manage multiple projects and clients while maintaining superior client relations.
