Exhibitions Project Assistant

Under the direction of the Director of Exhibitions, the Exhibitions Project Assistant will perform diversified administrative, project management and analytical tasks. S/he will provide support as needed for the activities for planning and budgeting exhibitions and renovations, including tracking costs, funding sources, contractual commitments and record keeping. Additional responsibilities include: initiating and/or taking on general administrative tasks, projects, studies, and budget or expense reports as directed, or as needed; supporting small scale gallery rotations, annual installations and other installations in public spaces, including budget, schedule and general project oversight; assisting with larger gallery and exhibition activities as required, or as needed; handling sensitive issues and confidential matters on a regular basis and in a professional way. Qualifications/Requirements: • BA or BS, preferably in Art History, Museum Studies, or a comparable field • A minimum of two to three years of experience in a complex arts organization/museum, preferably in exhibitions or other related office setting • Familiarity with TMS (The Museum System) database is a plus • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs • Must be energetic and able to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising high standards • Detail-oriented, organized, and poised with strong oral and written skills; good visual memory • Independent and self-directed, with the ability to execute projects from start to finish with strong follow-through skills • Must possess a collegial and collaborative style with ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts • Ability to work on individual projects while also contributing to team projects • Must be able to handle confidential information with care and discretion • Interest and enjoyment in working in an art environment
