Exhibitions Project Coordinator—exhibitions

We seek an energetic, collaborative, and organized Exhibitions Project Coordinator to coordinate the planning and implementation of our moderately-sized special exhibitions and collection-based installations, and to support the Museum’s touring exhibitions program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in art history, arts management, or arts administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two to three years of experience in a museum, gallery, or other visual arts setting
  • Leadership skills and capacity to facilitate cross-departmental teams with a high level of organization
  • Ability to assess priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure
  • Exceptional organizational skills, advance planning capabilities, and attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and TMS (The Museum System) or equivalent collection databases

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining financial records
  • Graphic design skills a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee teams on assigned special exhibition and collection projects, working in close collaboration across departments
  • Liaise with other Museum departments to ensure consistent and timely communication on matters pertaining to each project
  • Work with the Director of Exhibition Planning to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Support Exhibition Project Managers in coordinating major exhibitions as needed
  • Prepare touring exhibition proposals and outreach materials
  • Assist in assembling image sets, didactics, and other materials to share with tour venues
  • Track expenses and process invoices related to in-house exhibitions, and assist with invoices for touring exhibitions as needed
  • Support all facets of organizing touring exhibitions, and maintaining related archives
  • Provide general administrative support including note-taking, filing, scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and other tasks as needed

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends in accordance with installation and event schedules
