The Shakespeare Theatre Company seeks a Group Sales Manager to handle all group sales and increase group sales revenue. This position will work with our Box Office and Marketing department to identify and maximize sales opportunities. Duties will include managing sales campaigns while creating and fostering relationships with new and current groups, database analysis of group buying trends, researching opportunities in tourism and the group sales market, providing concierge service to groups, building strong relationships with group leaders and implementing group retention activities, leading occasional tours of the theaters, developing relationships and sales opportunities with outside vendors and neighborhood partners, and representing STC at public-facing events at the theatre and in the community. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated salesperson, should possess a strong sales drive, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be pro-active and self-directed. Previous sales experience and at least one year of box office experience is required, as well as strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of ticketing and general accounting practices, and computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience with the Tessitura ticketing system is a major plus.
