The Role Liberty Science Center is currently seeking a Group Service Specialist (GSS) with exceptional sales and customer service skills to assist the Group Service team in meeting group booking goals. The GSS will focus on supporting all aspects of the group sales and reservations process, including but not limited to: Cultivating customer relationships that ensure new and repeat bookings of on-site school trips, family reservations, and educational programs Assist in managing contracts, collecting payments, and ensuring proper database entry Being a resident expert on the Liberty Science Center’s sales portfolio, group needs, and guest service expectations. What You’ll Do Provide end to end care for guests throughout our reservation process Cultivate a positive and enriching experience for LSC guests by answering all incoming calls in a positive and professional manner Be an expert on LSC’s educational services, pricing portfolio, events, etc. Establish clientele and generate repeat business via phone, email, and in person Confirm and prepare reservations prior to group arrival Conduct cold calls to previous clients Hit weekly, quarterly, and yearly booking goals Greet all groups as they arrive to LSC and assist with any group needs Answer all of incoming phone calls and be an ambassador for LSC Other duties as required   Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with a CRM or POS system, prior Tessitura use is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Outstanding writing and proofreading skills Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks    Preferred Qualifications and Experience Associate’s degree in related field is a plus, but not required At least 1+ years in sales, telemarketing, customer service, and/or reservations   Schedule This is a full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt position. Liberty Science Center is open seven days a week, except on Thanksgiving and Christmas; therefore, all Group Service Specialists must be available to work occasional holidays, evenings, and weekends as scheduled. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit for long periods of time in an office with a medium noise level. The employee must be comfortable being constantly on the phone.
