You are comfortable coaching to peers and treat guests, coworkers, etc. with respect and professionalism. Possess strong judgement. You make decisions that keep the guest experience in mind and know when it is appropriate to refer to a supervisor. Uphold a consistently high level of enthusiasm and energy whether it is a busy or slow day. Guest Engagement Associates are trained with a foundational knowledge of LSC exhibits and experiences (Level I) and have the opportunity to advance to higher growth levels and gain additional responsibilities by demonstrating exceptional performance. Training Levels Level I Guest Engagement Associate possesses foundational understanding of essential floor positions. Stationed in galleries and experiences throughout the building to engage guests, answer questions, resolve issues, control crowds and lines, and oversee the condition, presentation, and safety of all public spaces. Level II Guest Engagement Associate demonstrates exceptional guest service Provide stellar guest service within the Joseph D. Williams 3D Science Theater and the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, manage crowds and long lines, and work calmly and efficiently on a tight timeline under pressure. Level III Guest Engagement Associate exhibits superior facilitation of science concepts Responsible for facilitating science learning through various lab experiences and activities throughout the Science Center. Labs range from physics to biology and everything in between. Present science topics in a comprehensible and accessible manner to learners of all ages, adjusting facilitation as necessary to respond to individual needs. Must possess a desire to work with young learners (ages 5 and under). Level IV Guest Engagement Associate is a leader among peers and demonstrates superior institutional knowledge and subject matter expertise. Train and mentor Guest Engagement Associates in specific areas such as I-Beam, Curtain Wall, etc. Schedule This is a part-time position. Ideal candidates will be available Monday through Sunday including weekends and evenings. Minimum Availability Requirement : Guest Engagement Associates must be available a minimum of two full days, at least one of which must be a weekend day, or three full weekdays.     Physical Demands The position requires employees to be able to spend long periods of time standing and maneuvering quickly through crowds. Guest Engagement Associates have to climb and descend stairs, must be able to lift 35 lbs. and may be scheduled to work in outdoor exhibits from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
