Reporting to the Rentals and Front of House Manger, the role of the House Manager (HM) is to provide exemplary customer service that will ensure the well-being and safety of patrons during public events. The HM is in charge of front of house procedures and facilities on show nights.  This part-time position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.




  • Oversee all patron contact areas, including house management, security, merchandizing, concessions and volunteer ushers
  • Serve as House Manager for all Flynn presented events, rentals and special events
  • Coordinate with Rentals and Front of House Manager, Programming Department, Production Director, and other staff regarding specific requirements for each event
  • HM is required to be Department of Liquor Control trained every two years
  • Night of show, the HM supervises show staff including bartenders, concessions supervisors, building engineers and volunteer ushers




  • Possess excellent customer service skills to help ensure Flynn patrons have a positive experience each time they come through the door
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage large gatherings of people, while maintaining poise
  • Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions in stressful situations
  • Effectively deal with a broad range of individuals and groups within and outside the organization
  • Practical knowledge of theatre environment and previous experience in commercial or non-profit arts desired
  • Ability to sustain physical activity, including lifting up to 50lb. and remaining on feet for long periods of time
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours at a variety of events and performances
