Role Summary

The Manager, Fan Engagement and Youth Strategy, will assist in the development of the overarching youth engagement strategy, focusing on Junior Knicks youth basketball initiatives. The manager will lead all execution and operations for Junior Knicks programs, including, but not limited to camps, clinics, coaches’ seminars, and tournaments. This position will oversee and manage on-site event staff and clinicians, as well as serve as the frontline and face of the brand with parents and participating youth at events.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Supports team in developing and executing against Junior Knicks youth basketball strategy, inclusive of creating new programs, sustaining and building existing ones, and fostering relevant relationships
  • Serves as operations and event lead for all Junior Knicks youth basketball programs (camps, clinics, tournaments, seminars). This includes overseeing registration, on-site check-in, set-up and breakdown, on-site troubleshooting, venue selection and coordination, and post-event surveys execution
  • Manages all staff and clinicians for department events. This includes running training sessions, hiring staff, overseeing staff on-site, and ensuring all staff are excellent stewards of the brand
  • Works closely with cross-functional team to ensure marketing, promotion and storytelling efforts for each program are executed on brand and in a timely manner
  • Manage budget for Junior Knicks events under scope
  • Works with research team to develop and execute post-event surveys and to ensure we are activating programs that the next generation of Knicks fans and their parents care about


  • 4 – 6 years of experience in youth sports and/or operations; previous experience managing camps and tournaments preferred
  • Working knowledge of the tri-state youth sports market preferred
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to speak before groups
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule; including night and weekend work as it relates to game and event schedule


Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
