Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of the American Theater, seeks an experienced candidate for the Manager of Corporate Sponsorships position. Summary: The Manager of Corporate Sponsorships manages the growing corporate relations and sponsorship program. The Manager will ensure a robust and growing pipeline that works to elevate and align corporate gifts and sponsorships with Arena’s highly-valued brand. In concert with the Chief Development Officer, Deputy Director of Development and select Board members, the Manager creates and executes strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, service, and steward corporate clients for production, community engagement, gala, Military Thanksgiving and other types of support. The Manager will be responsible for the account management of an assigned portfolio of corporate donors and prospects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Corporate Donor Portfolio Management:

Leads the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship of corporate prospects and donors for Arena Stage. Actively manages an assigned portfolio of 50+ corporate donors/prospects. Regularly solicits five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from assigned accounts. Identifies and enlists new funders through an entrepreneurial approach to prospect identification and cultivation. Develops detailed cultivation and solicitation strategies for each corporate donor/prospect often within the context of multi-year strategies targeted to achieve or exceed annual fundraising goals. Produces compelling communications including pitch decks, proposals, briefings, end-of-year reports, and recognition materials and opportunities for our corporate supporters. Prepares letters, invoices, acknowledgment letters/receipts and benefit fulfillment as needed. Provides timely and professional support to leadership staff and volunteers who may serve as ambassadors, door openers, relationship builders, and solicitors for Arena Stage. Supports the renewal and growth of corporate partnerships by playing an active role in managing day-to-day stewardship of donors including key communications, events, and individual relationships. Builds collaborative relationships with corporate and other external partners to influence philanthropic pipeline building and leverage corporate gifts to Arena Stage.

  General Management and Reporting:

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Development, the Director will participate in the annual budgeting process and maintain and provide agreed upon tracking and monitoring documents/dashboards related to corporate fundraising initiatives. Establish and track goals, strategies and plans through the OGSP planning tool for Development that achieves or exceeds annual revenue goal from corporations. Ensure that all giving data, strategies, gifts, correspondence, etc. is appropriately and accurately recorded in Tessitura and is consistent with departmental guidelines. Represent Arena Stage at local corporate and community functions. Other duties as assigned.

   Requirements: Successful candidates will have Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. At least 3+ years of experience in front-line fundraising and/or sales, the majority of which focused on corporate revenue and partnerships. Must be willing to work select evenings and weekends.
