Department: DevelopmentReports To: Associate Director of Major Gifts and Associate Director of Foundation and Government RelationsFLSA: ExemptEmployment Status: Regular/Full-time POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Donor Relations and Special Projects will support the High’s Development office in multiple capacities including project management, donor research, donor communications, grant writing, grant reporting, and in planning and executing donor events. WORK SCHEDULE: • Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and some evenings / weekends ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Supports the Director of Development with prospect research, donor communications, event planning, and donor credit lines. • Supports the Associate Director of Major Gifts with prospect research, donor communications, event planning, travel programs, and donor acknowledgement. • Supports the Associate Director of Foundation Relations and Government Relations with prospect research, grant writing, developing supporting materials, and grant reporting. • Provide exhibition support by maintaining donor credit lines for exhibits and acquisitions. • Manages a “Friends of the Collection” group for each Art Collection, including planning and facilitating all communications, travel, and special events. • Assists Department in prospect research for specific exhibitions and outreach programs. • Assists Department in writing and creating fundraising communications for exhibitions and programs. • Attends and assists with all donor events including exhibit opening receptions, Curator dinners, Friends groups, Wine Auction, and Circle/Director Circle previews. • Assists with other departmental and fundraising projects as assigned. Education and Experience: • Minimum of 2-5 years of Development experience in developing fundraising strategies, donor communications, and donor fulfillment • Experience with event planning and facilitation • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite products and database experience Skills and Abilities: • Impeccable writing and strong verbal communication skills, with attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, set priorities and solve practical problems with minimal supervision • Ability to summarize complex scholarly programs and exhibits to create materials for general readers, Private Foundations, and Government Entities • Strong organizational and event planning skills • Strong prospect research skills • Interest in art and/or museums is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
