How You Will Contribute The Production Artist (PA) works to bring to life the design of the Creative Studio. Working closely with the Production Manager, the Production Artist produces mechanical level designs for marketing campaigns and exhibition graphics. This position receives close direction from the Senior Graphic Designer and Production Manager. Ideally the PA is strong in typography, has a keen eye for attention to detail, project management and file-organization. The PA should be able to contribute and elevate proposed designs via production knowledge and printing techniques. Specifically, you will:

Collaborate closely with designers, production manager, and print vendors Prepare mech files based on supplied specifications for several types of media Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork    issues that arise during production Provide light image retouching, clipping paths and other necessary image manipulation Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners Create PDFs for print and client review Conduct press checks (with production manager) Prepare images for online and mobile applications Catalog and reference assets for future projects Follow a timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the collateral

Your diverse background includes:  

A BA/BS in Graphics Arts or related discipline At least two years of production work in a collaborative environment Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and e-mail design Basic knowledge of HTML5, CMT(s) and Adobe After Effects a plus Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, online advertising and email campaigns required Proficiency in digital design with experience in on-line media a plus Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in a Mac Excellent communication skills including writing, and ability to articulate design decisions in presentations Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact well with others Excellent organizational skills and the ability to shift as priorities change High level of energy, confidence, and a sense of humor Desire to work in a fast-paced environment Artistic clarity, creativity, innovation, and perception Previous experience working with large scale printer or fabricator a plus Must have examples of recent work to demonstrate required skills and abilities
