Hylton Performing Arts Center Part-Time Program Assistant This position will work with the Hylton Center’s arts and community engagement programs to support cross-disciplinary research and to support the Veterans and the Arts Initiative by facilitating workshops and special events, as well as assisting with research and some administrative tasks. Responsibilities: The primary duties of this position will be in support of community engagement through the arts. The program assistant will work closely with the principal investigator and Hylton Center staff. This position is responsible for facilitating workshops, completing tasks during community engagement programming, and completing administrative tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in the arts, education, social sciences, health sciences, and/or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Enjoy working with a diverse range of community members from children through older adults; Able to set up and put away folding chairs, music stands, and signs before and after workshops and special events; High level of initiative and ability to work productively with limited supervision; Attention to detail in research tasks as well as administrative tasks; Excellent punctuality, organization, and time management skills; Ability to work under pressure, in conditions with potential for ambiguity and quick change, and maintain a professional demeanor; Ability to read and comprehend relevant scientific literature; Ability to efficiently multitask; Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work as an effective team member; and Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer aptitude, including experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.
