The Shakespeare Theatre Company seeks a Props Painter and Sculptor. Under the direction of the Props Director and according to design specifications, the Props Painter and Sculptor paints and treats all furniture, hand props, weapons, and set dressing, and fabricates three-dimensional props of all sizes. This position also executes projects for which artistic direction is minimal, cannot be well-conveyed in blueprint, and/or is especially aesthetically nuanced, and will use mold-making and casting techniques to create consumables, create anatomical pieces, and construct artificial weapons, while staying within budget. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience painting and sculpting, with proficiency with Adobe Suite preferred. This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a 15 foot box truck and minivan, a willingness to be trained to drive a forklift and operate a personal lift, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights. Flexibility and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed is required. This is a full-time, year-round position with excellent benefits.
Please submit a portfolio along with your resume and cover letter, as it is required to be considered.
