Description:  Research Associate will provide administrative support to the Associate Director of Research and Prospect Management. The candidate will work on a variety of special projects and prepare vital documents needed to secure funding in support of the School’s initiatives. The position works closely with senior leaders and fundraisers in the Development department, and on occasion the President’s office.
Conduct donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations and foundations via online and standard research sources
Work closely with Major Gifts and other staff members to assess and fulfill research needs in the department
Assist in tracking donors and prospects in Raiser’s Edge, and help oversee technical aspects of the prospect management system
Prepare research for Development events and special projects
Proactively identify new prospects, qualify giving potential, and recommend a course of action
Use wealth screen software to verify and quantify data
Write donor and prospect profile reports for use by staff
Create and maintain confidential research files on donors and prospects
Train staff and work study students in research tools and best practices 
Process department invoices as needed
Provide administrative support to the Associate Director, Research and Prospect Management as needed
Bachelor’s degree
2-3 years related development/research experience, prospect research strongly preferred
Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, or Salesforce 
Highly motivated and organized
Excellent writing, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail required
Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve 
Produce under deadlines and work effectively with a diverse group
Comfortable with cross-departmental collaboration
Data-oriented professional that can translate data and information into written documents
Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, iwave, Foundation Search, and other reference databases
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and best internet practices
Interest in performing arts, education, cultural institutions desirable
