Shift Supervisor

SCAD seeks a Shift Supervisor for a unique hospitality opportunity with growth potential. In this role, you will help lead the team at Café 78, one of SCAD’s eateries located inside the university’s bookstore, Ex Libris. Reporting to the manager of Café 78, the Shift Supervisor will train baristas, coordinate schedules, make specialty drinks, prepare hot and cold foods and maintain a friendly and upbeat environment for customers and coworkers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task and remain calm in high-volume and high-pressure situations. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for positive interactions with customers and for store needs is required. Previous restaurant, hospitality and food service supervisory experience is a plus. Requirements: • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent • Previous barista experience preferred, but will train the right person • Ability to stand for long hours and use hands and arms • Available to work summer hours Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and fall hours Monday–Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and one weekend day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. once classes resume
