Responsibilities

The Public Affairs Office is responsible for promoting exhibitions and public programs and for building a positive image or brand for the Museum.  The Social Media Community Specialist is a team member of content producers and reports directly to the Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist. The incumbent is responsible for:

  • researching, developing, editing and publishing original content for the Museum’s social media channels;
  • collaborating with the Museum’s Curatorial Affairs and External Affairs staff to develop daily high-quality content across a variety of social media channels to increase the Museum’s reach and impact among diverse, online audiences;
  • responding to comments and customer queries;
  • monitoring and reporting on feedback and online reviews including TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp and other online review sites;
  • preparing regular reports analyzing conversation trends, compiling and synthesizing inquiries and complaints and submitting them to the Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist and relevant colleagues across Social Media, Public Affairs and others in External Affairs.
