POSITION: SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR POSITION SUMMARY: The Database Administrator is responsible for a wide range of data management, analysis and support related to our patron database system, Tessitura. Responsibilities include collaborating with key stakeholders in the organization to implement business intelligent data solutions with the goal of enhancing revenue generation and expanding audience participation efforts. Performs daily upkeep, maintenance, and tuning of Tessitura database to ensure business continuity. Coordinates data extraction, reporting, and usage of database with various end users across the organization with heavy interactions with both Marketing and Philanthropy teams. Monitors database health and provides trouble support and preemptive services. Our Database Administrator performs a vital role in the organization as the Tessitura System expert and helps drive data analysis and decision-making based on information in our system. Reports to Director of IT. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop strategies to effectively lead all database efforts throughout the organization. Provide ongoing daily database management and monitoring to ensure data integrity. Improve procedures and processes related to database management that will ensure accurate information is maintained and reports are generated accurately. Conduct routine testing and analysis of databases; use tools to identify and diagnose problems affecting database performance.Test and verify database recoverability. Design, create, modify, and produce customized reports to meet specifications requested by management, staff, and vendors. Programming using SQL, develops SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Provide direct database support, training, and communication to all application users. Develops and implements database training to effectively onboard new users. Assist IT manager in establishing, documenting, and implementing policies and procedures relative to the database and its use and the secure handling of data. As the Tessitura technology point person, leads the bi-weekly oversight meeting with core users’ group. Provides outstanding internal customer service and communication to all application users. Ensure appropriate documentation of financial reporting procedures. Plan and perform updates to all DB systems including live and test versions. Assist with IT department general help desk when needed.
