Role Summary

The Sr. Director Team Sales will be responsible for generating new Marketing Partnership revenue, while nurturing existing relationships with valued clients. The Director Team Sales must establish strategic platforms demonstrating to a client or prospective client, that Madison Square Garden properties are the premier nexus between the client and its targeted consumer. The Director Team Sales’ primary responsibility is to sell the following advertising sales properties: Sports Properties, teams: Knicks, Rangers, CLG, Knicks Gaming and MSG Signage as well as in arena, team specific, and external programming. This position is also responsible for developing new accounts, servicing existing accounts and ensuring timely collection and resolution of all outstanding account balances. In this role, the Director Team Sales should be an exceptional seller and have the ability to build accord with internal MSG departments to work with them in building and selling integrated solutions. The Director Team Sales will have a marketing orientation/sensibility, excellent presentation and closing skills. This role must be able to work with third party agency relationships that may be part of the sales solution for the Marketing Partnerships group..

Specific Functions/Activities Summary


Primary responsibility to sell the following advertising sales properties: Sports properties Teams: Knicks, Rangers Facilities: All in-arena, team specific, and external programming Develop new accounts and service existing account Ensure timely collection and resolution of all outstanding account balances Manage current and prospective accounts on a daily basis to drive activity and reinforce value Meet each week with SVP Team Sales to review current and new business development strategies and prospecting Coordinate calls and activities with others within the Ad Sales and Sponsorship teams Make calls, close sales and renewals



The ideal candidate will have sales experience in a sport driven industry, extensive knowledge of the marketing and advertising industries with a particular focus on the sports and entertainment industry. Essential to the success in the role is knowledge of the New York sports and entertainment marketplace. The ideal candidate will have strong sales/closing skills, leadership skills, is goal oriented and can promote a team atmosphere. This position also requires the ability to develop strong relationships (internally and externally), strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong negotiating skills.
